Privacy Policy – Bassopa Technician

Bassopa Sekuriteit (Pty) Ltd (“Bassopa”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects the privacy of users of the Bassopa Technician mobile application (“the App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when the App is used, why it is collected, how it is used and stored, and the choices available to users.
1. Purpose of the App
Bassopa Technician is a business field-service and job management application intended for authorised technicians using the Bassopa JobCard platform.
Technician accounts are created and managed by Bassopa or an authorised administrator. The App does not provide public account registration.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on the functions used, the App may process or collect:
Account and technician information – information associated with an authorised technician account, such as the technician’s name, account identifier and information required to authenticate and provide access to the Bassopa JobCard service.
Customer, site and Jobcard information – information necessary for technicians to perform assigned work, including customer and site details, Jobcard information, job descriptions, scheduling information and related service records.
Job activity information – information entered or generated while performing work, including Jobcard status, technician comments, materials, travel information, odometer readings, timestamps and workflow activity.
Photographs and job evidence – photographs captured or selected by a technician for legitimate job-related purposes, including odometer photographs and photographic evidence of work performed. Camera and photo-library access is requested only when required for these functions.
Device and notification information – a device-specific push-notification token may be collected and associated with the technician account so that the App can deliver operational notifications, such as notification of a newly allocated Jobcard. Apple explains that push notification delivery relies on a device token that identifies the particular app/device combination.
Technical and synchronisation information – limited technical information necessary to operate the App, communicate with Bassopa’s services, synchronise Jobcard information and maintain reliable offline/online operation may be processed.
3. How We Use Information
Information processed through Bassopa Technician is used to provide and operate the Bassopa JobCard service; authenticate authorised technicians; assign and manage Jobcards; record work performed; maintain job, travel and service records; synchronise information between the App and Bassopa JobCard platform; provide offline functionality; deliver operational push notifications; maintain security and reliability; and provide support and resolve technical issues.
We do not use information collected through Bassopa Technician for third-party advertising.
4. Camera and Photo Library
The App may request access to the device camera and/or photo library when a technician needs to capture or select job-related evidence.
Photographs selected or captured for a Jobcard may be uploaded to and stored by the Bassopa JobCard service as part of the relevant business/service record.
The App does not access photographs for advertising or unrelated purposes.
5. Offline Storage and Synchronisation
To allow technicians to continue working when network connectivity is unavailable or unreliable, certain Jobcard and workflow information may be temporarily stored locally on the device.
Offline information may be synchronised with the Bassopa JobCard service when connectivity becomes available again.
6. Push Notifications
With the user’s permission, Bassopa Technician uses push notifications for operational purposes, including notifying technicians when Jobcards are allocated.
Users can manage notification permissions through iOS Settings. Disabling notifications does not prevent access to the core Jobcard functionality of the App.
7. Sharing and Service Providers
Bassopa does not sell personal information collected through Bassopa Technician.
Information may be processed by service providers where reasonably necessary to operate the App and its supporting infrastructure. This can include hosting, network infrastructure and push-notification delivery services.
Bassopa requires service providers handling information on its behalf to process that information appropriately and only for the purposes for which their services are used.
Push-notification delivery may involve Apple Push Notification service (APNs) and notification infrastructure used by the App.
8. Data Security
Bassopa takes reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.
Access to Bassopa Technician is restricted to authorised accounts, and users are responsible for protecting their account credentials and devices from unauthorised access.
9. Data Retention
Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Bassopa JobCard service, maintain legitimate business and service records, meet contractual obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security and comply with applicable legal or regulatory requirements.
Information that is no longer required will be deleted, anonymised or otherwise handled in accordance with Bassopa’s applicable retention practices and legal obligations.
10. Access, Correction and Deletion Requests
Users may contact Bassopa to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with their technician account, subject to applicable law and legitimate business or record-retention requirements.
Because Bassopa Technician accounts are organisation-managed accounts, requests relating to account termination or deletion may also be handled by the appropriate Bassopa administrator.
11. Children’s Privacy
Bassopa Technician is a business application intended for authorised technicians and is not directed at children.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Bassopa may update this Privacy Policy when the App, its services, or applicable requirements change. The current version will be made available through the Bassopa website and/or the App.
